Abstract
The origin of music is currently in debate.1,2 Music is under the microscope of experts in neuroscience, psychology, biology, physiology, biology, physiology, physics and education with its origin cloaked in prehistory. Today, ubiquity of music demonstrates its importance in the production of pleasure and reward value3.Music has found its way into medicine as research reveals music exposure benefits of lowering of neonate’s heart rate, decreasing stress, improving the body’s immune system and decreasing cortisol 4. This paper will discuss the importance of music in culture and its benefits for physical health and psychological well-being.
