Abstract
Acute pain is one of the primary reasons patients seek care in Urgent Care Clinics. In the midst of an opioid epidemic, clinicians must understand the pathophysiology of pain, review treatment options, thoroughly assess the patient’s pain control needs, and utilize non-opioid measures as first line treatment when indicated.
