Abstract
Nasal airway obstruction is a common problem presenting to primary care providers in clinical practice. It is easy to diagnose nasal airway obstruction as part of a symptom of chronic allergies or sinusitis; however, it is essential to rule out a structural anatomic issue contributing to obstruction. The most common structural causes include inferior turbinate hypertrophy, nasal septal deviation, and nasal valve collapse. Once nasal airway obstruction is identified, proper management should be initiated. Ultimately, individuals are referred to otolaryngologists for optimal treatment.
