Abstract
Lower grade ankle sprains can be appropriately treated with more conservative treatment such as compression bandage and lace-up brace, while higher grade sprains may benefit from a period of full immobilization with a rehab program to promote early mobilization. More aggressive treatment of ankle sprains, initially, may provide greater protection for the patient at risk of further injury. Treatment can progress to a more conservative approach with time in early mobilization and weight-bearing with patient comfort following injury.
