Abstract
Breast Implant Associated – Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a rare, but potentially deadly, T-cell lymphoma that can develop around breast implants. When diagnosed in its early stages, BIA-ALCL is often curable. Increasing the knowledge of this condition within the medical community is key to early diagnosis. Since being acknowledged as a possible complication to breast implantation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO), BIA-ALCL has garnered more attention from the medical community. Even so, this condition continues to be underdiagnosed and underreported.
