Abstract
Abstract
Alternative Therapies to Surgery for Basal Cell Skin Cancer
Basal cell skin cancer is the most often diagnosed non melanoma skin cancer in the United States. The treatment of these lesions often involve invasive and costly surgeries, often with unsatisfactory cosmetic results for the patient. Alternative options to surgery are available and should be considered on a case-by-case basis. This article will provide a literature review focusing on topical immunomodulation, physical destruction by electrodessication and curettage, cryotherapy and possible combinations of these modalities.
