Abstract
Blunt injuries to the chest wall, specifically those related to rib fractures, need to be promptly identified and managed effectively to reduce morbidity and mortality. The proper diagnosis and management of blunt chest wall injuries related to rib fractures and associated injuries can improve survival. Furthermore, judicious use of multimodal pain management and early identification of patients that will benefit from the surgical stabilization of rib fractures (SSRF) are paramount to optimal outcomes.
