Abstract
Sudden sensorineural hearing loss is a sudden, most commonly unilateral hearing loss thought to be due to a viral infection. While it is not considered a life-threatening condition, it can affect a patient’s quality of life. This condition often has a successful recovery when diagnosed and treated early. Awareness in the primary and acute care settings will allow for expedited diagnosis and management of this condition.
