Abstract
Autoimmune gastritis is an immune-mediated disease associated with the diagnosis of nutritional deficiencies, including Vitamin B12 and iron deficiency. It is commonly present in the setting of other autoimmune conditions, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, type 1 diabetes mellitus, Addison’s disease, and myasthenia gravis. The recognition and diagnosis of autoimmune gastritis are important in patients who present with Vitamin B12 and iron deficiency, with a potential complication of gastric adenocarcinoma and gastric neuroendocrine tumor development.
