Abstract
ABSTRACT
The Lone Star Tick (Amblyomma americanum), once restricted to the southern United States, has undergone substantial geographic expansion and is now widely distributed across much of the country. It is a principal vector for multiple tick-borne diseases, including emerging and previously unrecognized syndromes, several of which carry significant risk of severe or fatal outcomes. Limited awareness among clinicians and delayed public health response have contributed to underrecognition, misdiagnosis, and inadequate prevention efforts. As environmental and ecological changes continue to facilitate the spread of A. americanum and its associated pathogens, there is an urgent need for improved clinical education, diagnostic tools, and coordinated public health strategies to mitigate the growing burden of Lone Star Tick-associated disease.
