Abstract

This project is the continuation of an ongoing project to allow a person to determine their location inside of a building using the signal strengths of WIFI access points. Previously, the system gathered data using mobile phones, but the data was not aggregated into a central location. We have implemented a remote server with the capability of data gathering and cataloging the collected information to provide general access to all the data collected. This new implementation is a RESTful service in which MAC Addresses, and signal strengths are associated with locations. This allows users to identify locations, even when they have not been in those locations previously.
