Abstract

First dates are enough to cause anyone to overthink and stress about how the date will turn out at the end of it. Both parties of the date want it to run smoothly to increase the chances of more dates to come. This research focuses on the first date and the expectations that the parties believe should happen or at least expect to. Specifically, the research looks to see if gender has a direct influence on sexual and typical first date expectations. Branching off this idea, information was gathered to see if how the person decided to initiate the date, contributes to their expectations at the end of the date. Since our world is developing more and more into a technological advanced society the creation of numerous dating sites has been launched to help people meet across the world. The expected outcome that was theorized, in this research was that there are differences when it comes to first date expectations based on gender. Through researching, this study wants to see if there are any differences when it comes to the different gender’s perception of the first date to see if there is also any correlation with those expectations depending on how they initiated the date whether it was in person or online.
