Abstract

This project focuses on synthesizing novel palladium complexes with various non-natural amino acid (AA) ligands. After synthesis is completed, these complexes will be characterized by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, Powder X-ray Diffraction, and the Kirby-Bauer Disk Diffusion Susceptibility Test; these data will be discussed and evaluated. The complexes will then be tested to determine their catalytic activity and biological activity; specifically their anticancer properties will be evaluated for potential utilization in future medical applications.
