Abstract
Research indicates that unfiltered water causes more harm to plants than filtered water. This highlights the unanswered question of whether filtered water would cause plants to grow faster. Using two groups of wild-type and an unknown mutant form of Arabidopsis thaliana, we watered plants with tap water (unfiltered), while two other groups were watered with deionized water (filtered). Filtered water yielded better growth in wild-type but not mutant plants. We conclude that mutant 25026 could be deleterious against receiving filtered water.
