Abstract
The Lynchburg Fire Department’s Weekly Walkabouts were established in Spring 2023 as a Community Risk Reduction effort to promote fire safety in the community. Through this program smoke alarms are installed in homes throughout the area and fire prevention literature is passed out. This initiative received the 2023 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Community Risk Reduction.
