Abstract

A continuation of previous work, a robot was build using an Arduino micro-controller, and an ultrasonic sound sensor. The robot was initially programmed to avoid obstacles by using the sound sensor to determine the robots distance from objects. Using three ultrasonic sound sensors the Robot was programmed to solve a simple maze by examining the surrounding walls for guidance. The “follow wall right” method for maze solving was employed to force the robot to maintain a set distance from the right wall of the maze, and eventually find the exit.
