Abstract

In any city it is easy to find numerous small not for profit companies with big hearts. Oftentimes though, these non-profits struggle due to a lack of funding or understanding of how to successfully reach their goals. This thesis is built to address two major questions. What are some of the most important characteristics of a successful small non-profit? How do we implement them across the board? This thesis focuses on how to better use social media and which leadership styles are most popular in the nonprofit world right now. Small, local non-profits help to solve issues in their own communities. By answering these questions, I hope to bring more clarity to issues that non-profits tend to struggle with, allowing them to continue to reach their goals and better their communities.
