Abstract
In my poster I will describe my experience as a research and development intern while working for Metrolina Greenhouses in Huntersville, North Carolina. This company grows and distributes plants to most of the Walmarts, Lowes, and Sam's Clubs in the eastern part of the United States. During the summer of 2020, I had the amazing opportunity to work alongside the R&D team where I met many new friends and gained a lot of experience. While working at the largest single site greenhouse in the U.S. we had many different trials and projects going on testing many different plants ranging from flowers to vegetables. Many of these trials were testing new chemicals on the plants to see how they would react to them. Some of the goals when testing the plants was to try and stunt the growth of the plants for a week or speed up the growth. I gained a lot of experience working in the lab each day where we tested the soils from each greenhouse to make sure they were healthy. Some other things I gained a lot of experience in was completing daily tasks from my boss and teamwork while working with other people.
