Abstract
By outlining the development of the B-Flat trumpet, examining the history of the trumpet, and demonstrating the impacts of the history of the trumpet, it will expand the knowledge base of the history of the trumpet. With the intent of improving music pedagogy and performance, the purpose of this research is to examine the origins of the trumpet by examining the history of the trumpet and demonstrating the impacts of the history of the trumpet. The particular problems of this study were to (1) Outline the development of the B-Flat trumpet, (2) examine the history of the trumpet, and (3) demonstrating the impacts of the history of the trumpet.
The history of the trumpet can be traced to originate from the Bible directly, go through the evolution of music, and conclude to where we are today. The trumpet following the Bible then had the purpose and look very similarly to the modern Bugle. Demonstrating the impacts of the trumpet would conclude with demonstrations of the rams horn, bugle, and modern trumpet. Examining how the trumpet came to be through researching the history and development, it can be concluded how the modern trumpet came to be.
