Abstract

This paper identifies climate apathy as a common attitude towards climate change, and seeks to ground that phenomenon in David Storey’s understanding of Nihilism. I evaluate the origin of this apathetic thought, raise challenges to this view, and present possible alternatives that satisfy existential thought without sacrificing climate action as a priority.
