Ethics

Authors who use AI tools in the writing of a manuscript, production of images or graphical elements of the paper, or in the collection and analysis of data, must be transparent in disclosing in the Materials and Methods (or similar section) of the paper how the AI tool was used, and which tool was used. Authors are fully responsible for the content of their manuscript, even those parts produced by an AI tool, and are thus liable for any breach of publication ethics.

Our Editorial board members must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from participation with any submission that infringes on a potential conflict. Additionally, editorial board members adopt policies and recommendations from the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and the World Association of Medical Editors' Ethics and Policy Committee. The owners, publishers, and editorial board members have agreed to adopt shared values and apply these values, as published by the University of Lynchburg, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Doctor of Medical Science program, the Knight-Capron Library within JMS, in our work: leadership and service, unity and teamwork, accountability and transparency, and excellence and equity.
