Abstract
The Disney Parks are famous for being a place where dreams come true. Princesses and Princes welcome you, attractions bring you on a thrilling adventure, and shows transport you into another world. Guests that enter the parks don’t think about everything it takes to put together these experiences; they simply enjoy the moment. That is the entire point of any creator’s job. You want your audience to be so caught up in your work that they won’t think about any of the equipment or technology it takes to create that moment for them. This is an idea that encompassed my entire internship when I worked in Walt Disney World this past fall semester. I participated in the Disney College Program for four and a half months working at Disney’s Contemporary Resort as a custodian. It doesn’t seem like the most glamorous job, but I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. Through the program, I was able to learn about how Disney creates magical experiences for their guests. One of the main concepts I learned is called “blue sky”. When Disney creators begin to think of a new concept to implement, they first think about what they could do if they had no limitations. They come up with grand, extraordinary ideas and from there create the incredible experiences and stories that we know today.
