Abstract
The Big Island of Hawaii is filled with various native, endemic, and introduced species of flora. In order to spread knowledge about them, their cultural significance, and ways to preserve and maintain them when traveling, I worked with Global Treks and Adventures alongside other interns on publishing a field guide. Through individual remote research and a 10 day field experience in Hawaii, I was able to create individual profiles of 40 different plant species and 5 snapshots highlighting key aspects of environmental and cultural significance. The final product, a field guide, intended to bring together these cultural and environmental aspects is in the process of being published.
